Blizzard Entertainment’s online gaming phenomenon World of Warcraft was always 1379944_10151917837440808_677284389_nbound for big-screen glory, and with a director and release date in place all that was needed to be sorted was who was going to take part on-screen. Turns out we now have our answer!

Ben Foster (The Messenger), Travis Fimmel (Vikings), Paula Patton (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol), Toby Kebbell (RocknRolla), Rob Kazinsky (Pacific Rim) and Dominic Cooper (An Education) have all signed on to the feature adaptation known as Warcraft.

Duncan Jones (Moon) will direct, and also recently did a rewrite of Charles Leavitt’s script. Universal Studios will distribute the film with Legendary Pictures, as part of their newly-formed partnership after the latter’s departure from Warner Bros.

Warcraft is set to begin filming in Vancouver next month, and is set for a March 2016 release after previously being bumped from its original Christmas 2015 slot when Star Wars: Episode VII moved to then. To be honest, can you blame them for getting out of the way?
