He lives with an aging elephant named Stella (Jolie) and a dog named Bob (DeVito), who have also spent most of their lives in captivity. When a baby elephant named Ruby (Prince) arrives, Ivan begins to care for the young animal and starts to realise there may be more to life than his small living space…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Angelina Jolie produces and co-stars in Disney’s heart-warming adaptation of the children’s novel by K.A. Applegate, which combines impressive special effects with a topical story about animal captivity.
