Stanley (Spall) is a middle-aged man who enjoys watching classic British films and TV shows from the 1960s and 70s, but soon finds himself imprisoned for a crime that he believes he never committed. After years in solitary confinement, Stanley begins to imagine conversations with several of his comedy icons (all of them played by Spall), who help him to remember what it is that he had done to get himself locked up…
IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?
Stanley A Man of Variety is a darkly comic and nightmarish one-man show for Timothy Spall to not only play dozens of roles, but also excel at each and every one of them.
