WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In Tokyo, Osamu Shibata (Franky) lives in poverty with his wife Nobuyo (Ando), heavily relying on pensions and income from low-paying jobs. Whilst Osamu is shoplifting groceries, he comes across a homeless young girl named Yuri (Sasaki), and takes her home where he and Nobuyo discover evidence of abuse, and despite their limited finances decide to formally adopt her…
