WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

In the mid-19th century, somewhere along the American East Coast frontier, married couple Abigail (Waterston) and Dyer (Affleck) live an isolated existence, overcome with grief following a close tragedy. Soon, they become neighbours with another couple, Tallie (Kirby) and Finney (Abbott), and the two women soon bond over their shared dissatisfaction with their respective marriages.
