Bradley-CooperMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, certainly one of the more out-there projects for the studio, is the only intergalactic team that features a talking, wise-cracking, ass-kicking raccoon. And now, that furry little creature has a voice.

Bradley Cooper, the Oscar-nominated star of Silver Linings Playbook and the Hangover trilogy, has been confirmed by Marvel to supply the voice work for the fan-favourite character Rocket Raccoon, part of the team that make up the title of the film, currently in production under the direction of James Gunn (Super).

Now, you may be thinking, a talking raccoon character? That’s straight out of a Disney film, right? Well, given that Marvel is now under the Disney banner, we suppose that’s true, but Rocket Raccoon is his own respected being in the Marvel universe as an expert marksman and master tactician. He just happens to be a raccoon.

Cooper joins an already-packed ensemble group that includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and fellow voice actor Vin Diesel, who will all feature in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, out summer 2014.
