WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

The film is comprised of various interpretations of artistic manifestos from different time periods that are placed in contemporary settings. Several different characters (all played by Blanchett) represent each of these manifestos, including a homeless man, a school teacher, a rock punk, and others…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Julian Rosefeldt’s wildly ambitious visual exhibition is trimmed to movie length, so that more people can experience the artistic riches that he and artistic collaborator Cate Blanchett – who takes on several different characters – have managed to construct together.
