WHAT’S IT ABOUT?
English couple Charlie (Flemyng) and Gemma Bovery (Arterton) move to a small farm located near a quiet town in Normandy, France. They attract the attention of local baker Martin (Luchini), an enthusiast of the work of Gustave Flaubert who recognises that the couple are eerily similar to the characters in Flaubert’s novel Madame Bovery. He sets out to prevent Gemma from making the same mistakes that her fictional counterpart made, but finds that fate cannot be altered…
