WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Mike (Eisenberg) is a seemingly hapless and particularly unmotivated stoner who lives a quiet small-town life with his girlfriend Phoebe (Stewart). Unbeknownst to the pair of them, their life is not entirely what it seems – Mike is, in fact, a highly-trained and extremely lethal sleeper agent who is targeted for extermination and, in the midst of a deadly government operation, must rely on his newly-discovered skills to protect both himself, Phoebe, and their priceless stack of weed…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

A stoner action comedy that deftly mixes the high-tech espionage of Alias with the pothead humour of Pineapple Express and, well, just about any other Seth Rogen comedy, American Ultra aims to deliver on its many action-based highs (and its many other “highs”).
